Show and Tell

For the last ten years I've been working as an instructional designer in the health care field. In that area, privacy and security are high priorities. So, I was unable to copy examples of my work for a proper portfolio.  So, I mocked up some example slides without using my former employers' assets.

Here are some slides from a general-interest presentation about the planets in our solar system:

Let me point out that the graphics here aren't just to make pretty. They are mnemonic hooks on which to hang the content. For example, in the quiz when learners encounter two empty buckets and the question, "How do we classify Mercury?" their visual memory will work together with their textual memory to do the classification task.

How do I mock-up an entire learning management system (LMS)? We set up and maintained a Thought Industries LMS environment with 47 panoramas (websites) so that we could tailor separate dashboards and content for separate clients. Here's one dashboard mock-up using generic thumbnails and titles.

Off to a great start, right?
